Man Convicted of Double Murder in London
A man named Yostin Andres Mosquera, 35, has been found guilty of two murders that took place in July 2024. The victims—Paul Longworth, 71, and Albert Alfonso, 62—were killed in their home in West London. Prosecutors claimed that Mosquera, who worked as a porn star, was driven by financial motives.
The bodies of Longworth and Alfonso were discovered hidden in a chest freezer and in suitcases that Mosquera had brought to a bridge in Bristol.
Mosquera was convicted at Woolwich Crown Court on July 21. During the trial, he claimed that Alfonso had killed Longworth, and he killed Alfonso to protect himself. However, prosecutors argued that the murders were premeditated.
Mosquera had known the couple for several years and had been staying with them for about a month before the murders. They were in a civil partnership and had a consensual relationship with Mosquera, which Longworth accepted.
On the day of the murders, authorities say Mosquera initially struck Longworth with a hammer, hiding his body under the bed. Later, while Alfonso was home, video footage showed Mosquera attacking him as well.
After the killings, Mosquera searched the internet for information about corpses and even bought a freezer. He was seen acting suspiciously with two large suitcases that were leaking blood, leading to police involvement. When authorities searched his apartment, they found the victims’ remains stored in alarming conditions.
Mosquera was arrested on July 13, and investigators discovered that he had attempted to access Alfonso’s bank account after the murders.
Detective Inspector Neil Meade described the crimes as horrific and expressed condolences to the victims’ families. The community remains concerned, and authorities are in communication with local leaders to provide support.
Mosquera is set to be sentenced in October.
