A tragic incident occurred in Bankstown, a suburb of Sydney, on Thursday night, April 17, around 10:30 p.m. A 45-year-old woman was reportedly kidnapped from her home by a group of masked men armed with guns. During the chaotic situation, her two sons, aged 15 and 8, were injured; the younger boy sustained serious head injuries after being attacked with a baseball bat.
Emergency services were alerted to a vehicle fire about an hour later, in Beverly Hills, where the body of a woman was discovered inside a burnt-out car. Although the identity of the remains has yet to be officially confirmed, authorities suspect it to be that of the kidnapped woman.
According to reports, five men were involved in the kidnapping, arriving in two vehicles—a white sedan and a black SUV. Witnesses described hearing screams during the attack, leaving neighbors shocked by the violent event.
