Paul Simon on the Mend After Successful Back Surgery, Show Rescheduled
Music legend Paul Simon, 83, is recovering well after undergoing back surgery this week. Originally, Simon was set to perform on July 7 at The Terrace Theater in Long Beach, California. However, due to his recovery needs, the concert has been postponed to July 8.
A statement from Simon’s team emphasized that the surgery went smoothly, attributing the success to a skilled medical team. They stated, “The surgery went well, but Paul requires an extra day to recuperate to ensure he can perform to his best ability.” Fans can look forward to seeing him back on stage soon.
This surgery follows a difficult period for Simon, who had to cancel shows in Philadelphia on June 27 and 28 due to severe back pain. His team had described the pain as “chronic and intense,” leading to the urgent need for medical attention.
Simon expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the rescheduling but reassured fans of his eagerness to reconnect with them. All tickets will be honored for the new date, and refunds will be available for those unable to attend.
The singer is currently on his “A Quiet Celebration Tour,” having announced this series of performances earlier in the year. His latest solo album, Seven Psalms, released in 2023, marked his return to making music after a hiatus.
Fans are hoping for a smooth recovery, as Paul Simon prepares to take the stage once more.
