Paris Jackson recently spoke out against online critics who mocked her appearance at Paris Fashion Week. The 26-year-old daughter of iconic pop star Michael Jackson shared her thoughts on social media after facing backlash for wearing a sheer black dress at Stella McCartney’s fashion show.
In a series of TikTok videos, Jackson expressed her confusion over the “mixed reviews” her outfit received. She acknowledged the “good amount of flack” she got but remained unfazed by the comments.
“I don’t really understand why the human body is a driving force for such discomfort in so many people,” she stated, emphasizing that our bodies are natural and shouldn’t be a source of shame. Jackson, a longtime advocate for animal rights and a practicing vegan, added, “It’s just a body… It’s okay. There’s nothing wrong with it.”
Jackson encouraged her followers to embrace the human form rather than criticize it. “We’re just animals. Don’t get uncomfortable with our bodies,” she said, reminding everyone that we all share this aspect of humanity.
In her videos, she also remarked on society’s tendency to be overly concerned about the human body while ignoring more pressing issues, saying, “We’ve got bigger fish to fry. Let’s do something for the environment, man.”
Since releasing her debut single “Let Down” in October 2020, Paris has been making a name for herself in the music industry. Her most recent release is a single titled “Hit Your Knees,” created in collaboration with singer-songwriter Linda Perry. Jackson has plans for more music in the future, expressing her passion for writing and sharing her experiences through song.
