Pakistani Leader Praises Trump, Plans Nobel Nomination
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently said he plans to nominate President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. He believes Trump deserves the honor for his work in helping to create a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
This isn’t the first time Pakistan has suggested Trump for the prize. They also nominated him for helping to stop fighting between Pakistan and India and setting up a ceasefire.
Sharif spoke highly of Trump, saying he felt the former President was the right person for the Peace Prize. He said Trump had not only brought peace to South Asia but was also working to save lives in the Middle East by helping to achieve peace in Gaza.
Trump and Sharif were together in Egypt with other leaders to sign papers related to the peace deal in Gaza.
Sharif saluted Trump and praised his leadership, saying the world needs him now. He believes Trump will be remembered for his efforts to stop conflicts.
This comes after the Nobel Committee in Norway gave the Peace Prize to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado last week.
When introducing the other world leaders, Trump seemed to question Norway’s choice, hinting that his peace efforts were more deserving of recognition.
