INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Pacers showcased an impressive performance once again, with Pascal Siakam and Tyrese Haliburton leading the charge. With their recent victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, they are now just two wins away from advancing in the playoffs.
Siakam had a standout game, scoring 24 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and hitting a key 3-pointer that initiated Indiana’s final push in the match. Haliburton also shone bright, contributing 21 points and 12 assists, helping the Pacers win 123-115. This win secures an early 2-0 lead in the series.
Haliburton praised his teammate Siakam, referring to him as possibly the most underrated player in the NBA. He noted Siakam’s consistency and steady presence on the court throughout the season.
The Bucks are feeling the pressure as they continue to struggle against the Pacers. In their recent match-up, Indiana maintained control from the beginning to the end, not allowing the Bucks to gain any momentum. Despite the Bucks winning three of four encounters during the regular season, they have not led at any point since the first quarter of Game 1.
The Pacers are set to continue the fight in Game 3, scheduled for Friday in Milwaukee.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, the two-time league MVP, expressed the need for his team to play with more urgency. After scoring 34 points and securing 18 rebounds, he acknowledged that falling behind early makes the game more challenging.
Bucks guard Damian Lillard returned to the court after missing time due to an injury, scoring 14 points. However, it was not enough to shift the momentum in favor of the Bucks. Bobby Portis Jr. had a strong showing as well, scoring 28 points with 12 rebounds.
The match had its share of excitement, including a skirmish that led to technical fouls and plenty of back-and-forth action. The game attracted a notable crowd, including WNBA star Caitlin Clark and former Pacers players, who witnessed a thrilling playoff battle.
Throughout the game, the Pacers established an early lead, showcasing their strengths. Even as the Bucks made a late push, Siakam’s timely 3-pointer helped seal the victory for Indiana, keeping their playoff hopes alive and well.
