An Oregon mother and her three young children were tragically found dead in their home, and police believe the incident is isolated.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported that the identities of the 37-year-old mother and her children, ages 2, 5, and 7, have not been released. Their bodies were discovered in a structure connected to their home in Cornelius, Oregon, on April 8.
Officials have not disclosed the cause of death for the family members. The Sheriff’s Office stated that detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit are involved in the case, and they have assured the public that there is no threat to the community.
Cornelius Police Chief Mitch Coley expressed the community’s shock and sorrow, saying, “Our community has been shaken to its core. While the investigation continues and details are still limited, I want to acknowledge the heartbreak this brings to the families involved and our entire city.”
He added that this is a difficult time for everyone impacted, including neighbors and first responders, and encouraged the community to come together with support and kindness.
According to local reports, the call to 911 came from a man who returned home and discovered the tragic scene. Neighbors mentioned that the family had just moved back in after being forced out due to a fire.
