Authorities in Massachusetts are actively looking for a missing toddler who may be in danger. Liyana Collins, just one and a half years old, was last spotted in her home on Belmont Street in Worcester, according to a statement from local police.
Liyana is believed to be with her mother, Amanda Collins. Police consider the child’s safety to be at risk and have attempted to contact Amanda to discuss the situation, but have not succeeded.
Linda DeArcangelis Flint, Amanda’s mother, reached out on Facebook to ask for help. She expressed great concern, writing, “Please, we need your help! This is my daughter and granddaughter. We need help to find this little girl.”
On a recent Friday, Linda shared the appeal again, emphasizing that “someone knows something” about Liyana’s whereabouts.
Amanda’s sister, Kaysha Flint, also made a heartfelt plea, hoping that if Amanda is unable to care for Liyana, she would allow family members to take care of her. Kaysha shared, “We just want her home and safe.”
Kaysha revealed that she and Amanda were once very close, but their relationship changed when Amanda lost custody of her other children. There were no details given on how this situation arose regarding Liyana.
One of Amanda’s older children, who is now an adult and has not been named, is also urging her mother to return Liyana safely. The daughter expressed her hope for Amanda to find it in her heart to ensure the child’s safety.
Worcester police are continuing their investigation into the matter. They are asking anyone with information about Liyana or Amanda to contact them immediately by calling 911 or 508-799-8606.
