Catherine O’Hara, the well-known actress who brought joy to many through her roles in “Home Alone” and “Schitt’s Creek,” has passed away at the age of 71.
Her representatives confirmed that O’Hara died peacefully at her home in Los Angeles after a short illness.
O’Hara’s career was marked by many memorable moments. She was loved for her portrayal of the mother in the “Home Alone” movies and for her role as the funny and unique Moira Rose in “Schitt’s Creek.”
Born in Toronto, Canada, O’Hara started in comedy and helped create the “SCTV” series. This led to many roles in movies and TV that made her a star.
Recently, she appeared in “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” and the TV shows “The Last of Us” and “The Studio.” Her work in these shows earned her Emmy nominations.
O’Hara’s film roles include appearances in “Beetlejuice,” “Home Alone,” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” She became a familiar face as the mother in the “Home Alone” films.
She often worked with Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy, appearing in comedy movies like “Waiting for Guffman” and “Best in Show.”
