NEW YORK – The annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade marched through the heart of New York City, offering a display of patriotism and holiday cheer. Balloons like Buzz Lightyear and Pac-Man, along with floats featuring Lego, entertained the crowds.
The parade started on the Upper West Side and concluded at Macy’s flagship store on 34th Street. Despite chilly temperatures in the 40s and wind, the parade went on, bringing joy to many families.
Officials kept a close eye on the wind, as city rules limit balloon size in high winds. Thankfully, the weather cooperated enough for the parade to proceed without major changes.
Megan Christy, who traveled from North Carolina, shared her excitement, saying the weather was good enough to enjoy the parade.
The parade included performances from Cynthia Erivo, Conan Gray, Lainey Wilson and others. The Radio City Rockettes also participated, showcasing American talent and tradition.
New balloons this year included characters from “Shrek” and “KPop Demon Hunters”. The parade was broadcast on NBC and Telemundo, allowing families across the nation to share in the Thanksgiving celebration.
