Local Pilots Killed in New Jersey Helicopter Collision
Hammonton, NJ – A tragic accident in New Jersey claimed the lives of two local pilots over the weekend. Kenneth Kirsch, 65, and Michael Greenberg, 71, died when their helicopters collided mid-air near the Hammonton Municipal Airport.
According to reports, witnesses saw the two helicopters flying close together before the crash in a farm field. Kirsch was taken to a nearby hospital but passed away, while Greenberg was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both men were experienced pilots, having earned their licenses in 2014. They were known to frequent a local cafe near the airport, often having breakfast together before taking to the skies.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the collision. Investigators are examining the wreckage. A preliminary report is expected in about a month.
