The National Football League (NFL) is gearing up to celebrate its best players and coaches from the 2025 season at the annual NFL Honors ceremony. The event, a highlight of Super Bowl weekend, is scheduled for Saturday, February 5th, a day before Super Bowl 60.
While the excitement builds to see which teams will compete for the championship, the NFL has already announced the finalists for its prestigious individual awards. These awards recognize outstanding achievements across various categories, from the league’s most valuable player to its top rookies and coaches.
The Nominees
Here’s a rundown of the finalists for some of the major awards:

Most Valuable Player (MVP):
The MVP award recognizes the player who had the most impact on their team’s success. The finalists are Drake Maye, quarterback for the New England Patriots; Christian McCaffrey, running back for the San Francisco 49ers; and Matthew Stafford, quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams. -
Defensive Player of the Year:
This award honors the defender who demonstrated exceptional skill and leadership. The finalists are Aidan Hutchinson, defensive end for the Detroit Lions; and Micah Parsons, defensive end for the Green Bay Packers. -
Offensive Player of the Year:
This award goes to the top offensive player in the league. The finalists are Drake Maye, quarterback for the New England Patriots; Christian McCaffrey, running back for the San Francisco 49ers; Puka Nacua, wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams; and Bijan Robinson, running back for the Atlanta Falcons. -
Offensive Rookie of the Year:
This award celebrates the best first-year offensive player. The finalists are TreVeyon Henderson, running back for the New England Patriots; and Jaxson Dart, quarterback for the New York Giants. -
Defensive Rookie of the Year:
This award is for the top defensive player in their first season. The finalists are Abdul Carter, linebacker for the New York Giants; Nick Emmanwori, defensive back for the Seattle Seahawks; James Pearce Jr., defensive end for the Atlanta Falcons; Carson Schwesinger, linebacker for the Cleveland Browns; and Xavier Watts, safety for the Atlanta Falcons. -
Coach of the Year:
This award recognizes the head coach who made the most significant positive impact on their team. The finalists are Liam Coen, of the Jacksonville Jaguars; Ben Johnson, of the Chicago Bears; Mike Macdonald, of the Seattle Seahawks; Kyle Shanahan, of the San Francisco 49ers; and Mike Vrabel, of the New England Patriots. -
Assistant Coach of the Year:
This award honors an assistant coach for his impact. The finalists are Vic Fangio, defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles; Brian Flores, defensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings; Vance Joseph, defensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos; Klint Kubiak, offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks; and Josh McDaniels, offensive coordinator for the New England Patriots.
