It sounds like a no-nonsense way to get things done. Trump made it clear that if Democrats didn’t act, he would deploy ICE and told them to “GET READY.”
The President didn’t mince words, blasting the “Radical Left Democrats” for hurting the Department of Homeland Security and TSA officers. He went on to say they “will never protect America, but the Republicans will.” It’s a clear message: Republicans are serious about security. Many TSA employees are struggling, even having to call out of work, due to the Democrats’ refusal to fund DHS.
Musk Jumps In: A Generous Offer?
Tesla CEO Elon Musk chimed in with an offer to pay TSA salaries during this funding fight. A generous gesture, no doubt. Musk posted on X, saying he wants to pay the salaries of TSA personnel during this funding impasse, which he recognizes is hurting so many Americans.
But, how would that even work? Government employees taking outside money? It’s a bit of a head-scratcher. It’s unclear how this offer would be executed, considering it’s usually against the rules for government employees to receive outside compensation for their official duties.
The Democrats’ Dangerous Game
The real story here is the Democrats’ refusal to fund Homeland Security. They are playing politics with our safety, demanding more restrictions and oversight on ICE and CBP before approving a budget. They did this because Senate Democrats refused to approve a funding bill without harsher restrictions and oversight on ICE and CBP.
Trump slammed the “Fascist Democrats” for prioritizing their radical agenda over the safety and security of the American people. They claim to care about “immigrant rights”, but what about the rights of law-abiding citizens to be safe?
