New Spin-Off of Desperate Housewives In the Works
A new offshoot of the beloved early-2000s television drama Desperate Housewives is on the horizon. Titled Wisteria Lane, this series will bring audiences back to the iconic suburban street that captured hearts when the original show first aired.
Produced by 20th Television and Kerry Washington’s Simpson Street Productions under the Onyx Collective, Wisteria Lane promises to be a fun and intriguing mix of friendship, drama, and dark comedy. According to the show’s logline, it will follow five diverse friends living in a picturesque cul de sac, showcasing the glitzy facade of their lives while revealing the secrets hidden behind their charming exteriors.
Natalie Chaidez is set to write the series and will join Washington, Pilar Savone, and Stacey Sher as executive producers.
Desperate Housewives originally aired from 2004 to 2012 and became a cultural phenomenon during its eight-season run. The show featured a stellar cast including Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman, and Marcia Cross, portraying the complicated lives of women in a seemingly perfect neighborhood.
