A man from Las Vegas, Oswaldo Perez-Sanchez, has been arrested in Mexico after being wanted for the murder of his girlfriend, Tabatha Tozzi, earlier this year. Authorities claim that he shot Tozzi during an argument on April 22, 2023, and then carjacked a witness as he fled the scene.
After being on the run for nearly two years, the FBI became involved in the search for Perez-Sanchez. On April 15, Mexican prosecutors in Sonora announced the arrest of a man for the murder of another woman, identified as Viviana Karley N. They also revealed that this suspect was wanted by the FBI in connection with the Tozzi case.
Following this announcement, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that Perez-Sanchez had been captured. He is currently held in Mexico on local charges, while plans for his extradition to the United States are being arranged.
As of now, it is unclear whether Perez-Sanchez has pleaded to the charges against him.
After Tozzi’s death, a GoFundMe campaign was initiated to support her family, raising more than $54,000. Her mother described her as the “head of our household” and shared the impact of her loss, particularly in caring for family members in need.
