Alessandro Dell’Acqua showcased his N21 collection for the upcoming winter during Milan Fashion Week on Tuesday, presenting a captivating blend of styles. This collection emphasizes a mix of traditional and modern fashion, combining both feminine and masculine elements seamlessly.
Among the highlights are clothing staples like the classic little black dress, accentuated with bows at the neckline or featuring a stylish racer-back cut. Boxy knitwear is introduced, designed to be both comfortable and chic, pairing nicely with corduroy pants and elegantly printed A-line skirts, as well as organza skirts adorned with delicate beading.
Bows take center stage this season, with oversized versions enhancing dresses and skirts, giving definition to the overall silhouette. Overcoats play a significant role in the collection, often showcasing exaggerated sizes alongside subtle feathery details near the button line. A particularly eye-catching piece is a barn coat crafted from corduroy, featuring a leather collar and worn over sheer dresses for an intriguing contrast.
Dell’Acqua shared that his creative inspiration comes from the films of Sofia Coppola, specifically “Lost in Translation,” “The Virgin Suicides,” and “Marie Antoinette.” He expressed a fondness for unconventional combinations in fashion, stating, “I adore the errors. There are things that shouldn’t go together, like the feathers in these moments where they don’t belong, but I think it is fun.”
This collection not only reflects the timeless aspects of fashion but also encourages a playful exploration of style, reminding us that fashion should be enjoyed and celebrated.
