A Halloween party in North Carolina turned tragic when a shooting occurred, leaving two people dead and eleven others hurt.
On Saturday, October 25th, around 1:15 a.m., police received calls about a loud party and reports of shots fired at a home. When they arrived, they found a chaotic scene.
Two people, Jessie Locklear Jr., 49, and Nehemiah Locklear, 16, were pronounced dead at the scene. The injured victims, ranging in age from 18 to 43, were taken to the hospital. One person’s injuries were life-threatening, but the others were not.
Those injured include Nicole Harris, Anthony Harris, Jerami Locklear, Trevor Jacobs, Tylon Locklear, Kiona Oxendine, Erin Hatcher, Gabriel Bullard, Lacy Chavis, and Delilah Locklear, along with an unnamed 17-year-old.
The local Sheriff, Burnis Wilkins, expressed his sadness and concern over the incident, especially the involvement of teenagers, alcohol, and guns. He pointed out the dangers of mixing alcohol and firearms, regardless of age.
Police are currently looking for the person responsible for the shooting. As of now, no one has been arrested.
The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office is working with other law enforcement groups to investigate the shooting.
