A tragedy occurred in Wilson, North Carolina, where a 25-year-old man, Da’ron Jenkins, is accused of killing his mother and 15-year-old brother just a week after being released from prison. According to police reports, the incident took place on March 31 at their home.
Da’ron has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder following the deaths of 50-year-old Dana Jenkins and her son, Daryn Cox. Officers arrived at the scene around 5:30 p.m. and discovered the two victims inside the residence. The authorities have confirmed that Dana was Da’ron’s mother and Daryn was his younger brother. The details surrounding the circumstances of their deaths are still under investigation.
Records indicate that Da’ron was freed from prison due to a separate crime only one week prior to this incident. Residents are in shock, with family members describing Dana as a kind-hearted person who always had a smile.
A cousin of Dana, Juanilla Kornegay, expressed disbelief at the events, saying she never imagined Da’ron capable of such actions. “I would have never thought that,” she remarked.
Currently, Da’ron is being held at Wilson County Jail without bond. It remains unclear whether he has entered a plea or if he has legal representation for his case. The Wilson Police Department has been reached for additional comments, but no response was available at this time.
