A woman in England is getting better after she was shot many times in her house on Christmas Eve. Her young child was there when it happened. The police are still looking for the two people who did it.
The police in London said they got a call about gunshots at a house in Peckham around 10:50 p.m. on December 24, 2025.
When they got there, they found a woman in her 20s who had been shot several times.
The police said she was taken to the hospital and was in very bad condition. She stayed in the hospital’s critical care unit over Christmas. As of Saturday, January 10, she was still in the hospital.
The police also said that the woman’s one-year-old child was in the house when the shooting happened, but the child was not hurt.
The police think that two men went to the front door of the house. Then, they shot through the door, hitting the woman. They think seven shots were fired in total.
After that, the two men ran away from the house, going from Cronin Street toward Commercial Way.
The police said that both men were wearing dark clothes. One of them was wearing a gray hoodie and may have had a gun. The other man was wearing a dark-colored hoodie.
A police officer named Detective Inspector Jordan Gardner said that this was a terrible thing to do, especially since it happened in a family home where a young child was present. He said it’s important to find the people who did it and make sure the woman gets justice. He asked anyone who has information to come forward and help the police.
The police want to hear from anyone who was near Cronin Street, Commercial Way, or Moody Road between 9:45 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
They are asking people to contact the police if they saw two men acting suspiciously, saw them running away from the scene, or have any video footage from doorbell cameras, security cameras, or car cameras in the area.
