Miranda Lambert Steps Up for Pets Amid Texas Floods
Country music star Miranda Lambert and her nonprofit organization, MuttNation, are mobilizing to support pets and their owners affected by the devastating floods in Texas.
In a heartfelt video shared on social media, Lambert expressed her sorrow over the crisis. “I can’t even find the words to express the loss that everyone is facing,” she said. The flooding, which began on July 4, has led to significant destruction, with the death toll reaching 89 as per the latest reports.
MuttNation is working closely with local shelters to assess needs and provide aid. Lambert encouraged her followers to join the effort, whether helping in person or donating supplies. She outlined several ways for people to assist, including fostering pets, volunteering, delivering supplies to shelters, and reporting lost animals.
Fans can contribute to MuttNation’s fundraising campaign, which aims to raise $15,000. So far, the organization has collected over $14,000 to aid its efforts.
Since its founding in 2009, MuttNation has raised more than $11 million and assisted over 1,000 shelters. The organization’s mission focuses on promoting pet adoption, educating the public on spaying and neutering, and supporting shelters during disasters.
The floods, triggered by intense rainfall, have left many areas, including campgrounds, heavily affected. Local officials are urging the community to come together for support and assistance during this challenging time.
As Lambert reminds everyone, keeping prayers and support flowing can make a difference.
