White House Official Criticizes Democrats After Border Patrol Shooting in Minnesota
Washington, D.C. – A top White House official is speaking out against Democrats who are calling for federal immigration agents to leave Minnesota. This comes after a Border Patrol agent shot and killed a man in Minneapolis on Saturday.
According to reports, the 37-year-old man approached the agents during an operation and then “violently resisted.” The man was reportedly armed with a 9mm pistol and two magazines.
Stephen Miller, a White House deputy chief of staff, took to social media to voice his concerns. He accused Democrats of siding with “terrorists” and criticized them for attacking law enforcement.
Miller specifically called out Senator Chris Murphy, a Democrat from Connecticut, who suggested that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should leave Minneapolis and that Congress should cut its funding.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz stated that the man who was shot had a legal permit to carry a firearm.
Attorney General Pam Bondi sent a letter to Governor Walz, stating that Minnesota has “refused” to enforce immigration laws. She said this lack of enforcement has “heartbreaking” consequences.
Bondi added that because Minnesota has chosen to ignore federal immigration law, federal agents have been operating alone. She also said that politicians in Minnesota are not only refusing to help these agents, but they are also putting them in danger.
Bondi also criticized Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Governor Walz for their anti-law enforcement statements. She said that the results of these policies and statements are a national tragedy. She also mentioned that violence against ICE officers has increased significantly. Bondi urged Walz to restore the rule of law, support ICE officers, and bring an end to the chaos in Minnesota.
