Thousands of users faced problems with Microsoft 365 services, including Outlook, on Saturday. Many took to social media platform X to express their frustrations as they were unable to access their email accounts.
Microsoft responded to the situation by investigating the matter and later announced that they had found a potential cause of the issues. The company indicated that they reverted some code to help resolve the problem. In an update, Microsoft reported that most of the affected services were showing signs of recovery after the changes made.
Reports from Downdetector, a site that monitors outages, showed thousands of complaints from users who were experiencing difficulties. The peak of these reports occurred around 4 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Fortunately, many users began noticing that their access to Outlook and other Microsoft services was restored as the situation improved.
This incident follows a similar outage earlier in the week when the popular communication platform Slack experienced issues, affecting thousands of its users.
