Conor McGregor Eager for UFC Fight at the White House
UFC superstar Conor McGregor hasn’t stepped into the octagon since July 2021, but recent developments suggest he might be gearing up for an exciting return next year. Following an announcement from President Trump about a UFC event set to take place on the White House lawn, McGregor expressed his enthusiasm on social media, signaling his strong interest in participating.
On July 4th, McGregor tweeted, “Happy 4th of July, USA! Excited with President Trump announcing a UFC fight event at the White House. I would be honored! Count me in!” This tweet included a photo of him with Trump in the Oval Office, adding a personal touch to his message.
Interestingly, McGregor also mentioned his plans to run for president of Ireland, indicating his ambition. He predicted, “July 4th next year is a Saturday regarding President Trump’s UFC White House event. I will be reigning President of Ireland just under 1 year when I step out on the lawns of the White House to throw down. Epic proportions! Or as I like to call it, Tuesday at the office. Vote McGregor.”
In a recent visit to the White House, McGregor voiced concerns about the Irish government, claiming they have neglected the people’s concerns: “Our government has long since abandoned the voices of the people of Ireland, and it’s high time that America is made aware of what’s going on in Ireland. What is going on in Ireland is a travesty.”
As for his fighting career, McGregor has been itching to return. He previously made headlines after an injury during training halted his comeback plans. He also mentioned that he wants to fight only in major stadiums, showing his ambition to take high-stakes bouts seriously.
In 2021, McGregor suffered a significant defeat when he broke his leg during a fight against Dustin Poirier. Though he was expected to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303, that event was also put on hold due to an injury he sustained during training.
With these plans in the air, many are looking forward to seeing how McGregor’s journey unfolds—both in the ring and on the political stage.
