A tragic incident unfolded in North Carolina when a McDonald’s employee was charged with the fatal shooting of a DoorDash driver. On Thursday evening, an argument broke out between Kevin Holland, 25, who worked at McDonald’s, and Samori Husamudeen, also 25, who was delivering food for DoorDash.
During the confrontation, Holland allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Husamudeen, who was pronounced dead at the scene. After the incident, Holland fled but was located the next day at a Walmart by the police.
Holland has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond at the Cumberland County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in court for the first time next week.
Husamudeen’s family expressed their grief, calling him a devoted father to his four children and emphasizing his kind-hearted nature. “He could light up a room with just his smile,” they stated.
A DoorDash spokesperson shared their condolences, stating they are heartbroken over the loss and are ready to assist law enforcement in investigating the crime. The owner of the local McDonald’s expressed shock at the events and mentioned that they are offering counseling to their staff and cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
The Fayetteville Police Department continues to investigate the case, and anyone with information is urged to reach out to the authorities.
