Maya Hawke recently made her debut on the Broadway red carpet alongside her boyfriend, Christian Lee Hutson. This marks a special milestone for the couple as they attended the opening night of John Proctor Is the Villain, which showcased the talents of her fellow Stranger Things star, Sadie Sink, at the Booth Theater in New York City.
Hawke, who is 26, looked stylish in a pleated skirt and a collared sweater, complemented by a sleek leather trench coat and Prada loafers. On the other hand, Hutson, 34, opted for a more casual look featuring a denim outfit paired with a brown turtleneck and classic white Converse sneakers.
The couple first met four years ago through the music industry, where Hutson has made a name for himself with his indie folk sound and collaborations with artists like Phoebe Bridgers. They recently worked together on Hawke’s upcoming album Chaos Angel, which includes the single "Missing Out." In a recent interview, Hawke spoke fondly of their collaboration, highlighting the advantages of dating someone who truly understands you.
Hawke first teamed up with Sink, now 22, back in 2017 when Stranger Things premiered. Recently, several other cast members from the show came out to support Sink at her Broadway debut, including Natalia Dyer, Finn Wolfhard, and Gaten Matarazzo.
In John Proctor Is the Villain, Sink plays high school student Shelby Holcomb. The play, written by Kimberly Belflower and directed by Tony Award winner Danya Taymor, centers on a group of Georgia high school students as they explore Arthur Miller’s The Crucible. The synopsis notes that as they study the classic play, they begin to challenge its perspective on the character of John Proctor.
At the opening night event, Sink expressed her pride in the production, emphasizing the play’s authentic portrayal of teenage experiences and its ability to tackle difficult topics in an approachable manner.
Excitingly, the fifth and final season of Stranger Things has completed filming and is set to be released on Netflix later this year, although a specific premiere date has yet to be announced.
