Harry Amass, a young soccer player on loan from Manchester United to Norwich City, is facing an unexpected setback. His time with Norwich City might be cut short due to an injury he sustained shortly after joining the team.
Amass, who is 18 years old, had recently signed a temporary deal with Norwich City for the second half of the season. Previously, he spent the first part of the season with Sheffield Wednesday. Manchester United decided to bring him back from Sheffield Wednesday to give him a chance to play in a different environment. They believed Norwich City would be a better place for him to develop his skills until the summer.
However, things haven’t gone as planned.
Amass made his debut for Norwich City as a substitute in a game against Coventry City. Unfortunately, soon after that appearance, he suffered what has been described as a “serious-looking” injury during a training session.
Norwich City’s manager, Philippe Clement, commented on the situation, saying that the injury appears to be one that will take some time to heal. He also mentioned that because Amass is on loan from Manchester United, the two clubs will need to work together to decide what’s best for the player.
The clubs will discuss whether Amass should return to Manchester United’s training facilities to recover and undergo rehabilitation. This is similar to what happened with another player, Toby Collyer, who had a knee injury earlier in the season.
This injury is a significant disappointment for Amass, who was eager to prove himself in a new setting after making a positive impression with Sheffield Wednesday.
Besides Amass, other players at Manchester United are also currently sidelined with injuries. Patrick Dorgu is expected to be out for about 10 weeks due to a hamstring injury he picked up in a game against Arsenal. Matthijs de Ligt has been unavailable since late November. Mason Mount was also unable to play in a recent game, but his injury is considered minor, and he is expected to return to the team soon.
If Amass does return to Manchester for his recovery, he will join these other injured players at the team’s training complex. The priority for both clubs will be to ensure that Amass receives the best possible care and rehabilitation so that he can return to playing soccer as soon as he is fully recovered. The player’s well-being and long-term development are at the forefront of this collaborative decision-making process between the two teams.
