A man has been arrested following the death of a woman in Toccoa, Georgia, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). Authorities were called to a home on East Franklin Street on Friday, November 22, around 4:30 p.m., after 42-year-old Angela Baker was found dead by family members.
The suspect, 36-year-old Corey Bryant, was taken into custody shortly after for unrelated charges connected to a fight that occurred on the same day.
GBI officials reported that Bryant and Baker had previously been in a relationship. During their investigation, agents uncovered evidence that led to Bryant being charged with Baker’s death.
Corey Bryant is now facing charges of malice murder. The GBI is urging anyone with more information to reach out to their Regional Investigative Office in Cleveland at 706-348-4866 or to contact the GBI tip line at 1-800-597-TIPS.
