Macklemore’s Home Robbed While Children Were Inside
In a shocking incident, rapper Macklemore’s home in Seattle was broken into on June 7. At the time of the robbery, his three young children were inside the house with their nanny.
According to a police report, the nanny called 911 just before 1 a.m. to report the break-in. Two men had entered the home in the Capitol Hill neighborhood and allegedly used bear spray on her. The nanny managed to escape and summon help, leaving the children asleep upstairs.
The police report noted that the nanny believed the robbery could be politically motivated. It mentioned that the home belonged to a "high-profile individual," identifying Macklemore by his real name, Ben Haggerty.
Sources indicate that Macklemore has been active in supporting political causes, which may have added to the nature of this crime.
While the robbers were stealing valuables, the nanny faced a frightening encounter. The suspects reportedly demanded to know where the jewels were while ransacking the house, even throwing her to the ground at one point. Despite the chaos, she managed to fight back and escape to a neighbor’s home to call the police.
When officers arrived, they found the house in disarray but were able to safely take the children out. Family members later came to take care of them.
As of now, there has been no official comment from Macklemore’s team regarding this troubling event.
