Tragic Incident in Louisiana Claims Lives of Three Family Members
A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Keithville, Louisiana, where a 2-year-old girl named Adalynn Mae Sadler was tragically shot by her grandfather, Leroy Sadler, in an apparent murder-suicide on May 5. The tragedy also claimed the lives of Adalynn’s grandmother, Judy Sadler, aged 64, and her father, James Sadler, aged 29.
Adalynn’s mother, Kara Hanning, expressed her utter shock, saying, "He loved that baby so much." She is left grappling with many unanswered questions about the circumstances that led to such a devastating outcome.
Early on the morning of May 5, law enforcement was called to the Sadler home for a welfare check. When deputies arrived, they heard a gunshot from inside. Upon entering, they discovered the tragic scene that had unfolded.
Kara recounted the dreadful moment she learned of the incident while at work. Feeling an instinctive sense of dread, she immediately contacted Adalynn’s babysitter to confirm the child’s whereabouts, only to find out that Adalynn and her father had not been seen that day.
Rushing home, Kara was met by detectives who delivered the heartbreaking news that would forever change her life. "I lost it," she shared, reflecting on her unimaginable grief.
In the wake of this tragedy, Kara revealed that Leroy had recently experienced his own family loss, with his stepdaughter passing away from cancer. He had also learned that his wife was ill, leading Kara to express her hope that he might have reached out for help in his time of distress.
Despite the overwhelming pain, she stated, "I can’t hate him. I will never be able to hate him," emphasizing her forgiveness toward Leroy for his actions.
In efforts to support Kara during this difficult time, family members have set up a fundraiser to assist with funeral costs and other expenses for Adalynn. The ongoing tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the critical importance of reaching out for help in times of need.
