Lindsay Shiver, a former beauty queen, is preparing to be released on bail for the second time as she awaits her upcoming trial. Shiver has been accused of plotting to kill her estranged husband, Robert.
Her lawyer, Ian Cargill, confirmed that she will be released from Fox Hill Prison in Nassau on Thursday, February 13. He also mentioned that her trial, which was initially set for March, has been postponed to August. The bail amount set for Shiver is $100,000.
At 37 years old, Shiver, along with her former boyfriend Terrance Bethel and an alleged hitman named Farron Newbold Jr., is facing serious charges. Reports indicate that Shiver has denied the allegations related to a murder plot.
Shiver and Bethel were arrested in July 2023 after an investigation into a different case led police to uncover WhatsApp messages that suggested a murder plot against her husband. During their time together, police say they discussed this plan.
It was also reported that Shiver had sent a text message expressing a desire for her husband to be harmed, along with a photo of him. Her husband had previously sought a divorce after learning of Shiver’s alleged affair with Bethel.
In late October 2024, Shiver and Bethel had their bail revoked and were re-arrested for violating pre-trial rules by giving media interviews. It’s currently unclear why they have been granted a second chance at bail.
While out on bail before, they had spoken with media, insisting there was no murder plot against Robert. Bethel stated, “Nobody ever wanted him dead,” and both maintained their innocence regarding the charges.
As the case continues to unfold, both Shiver and her lawyer have not provided further comments at this time.
