Lil Nas X Faces Serious Charges After Arrest
Lil Nas X, the popular musician known for his hit “Old Town Road,” may be facing a lengthy prison sentence following a series of new felony charges filed on Monday. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office confirmed that the artist, whose real name is Montero Hill, has been charged with three counts of battery against a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer.
The issues began when Lil Nas X was arrested last Thursday in Los Angeles after he allegedly assaulted a police officer. Following the incident, he spent the weekend in jail and appeared in court on Monday morning. During this appearance, the felony charges were officially announced, with an arraignment scheduled for later that day.
According to California law, if convicted, Lil Nas X could face up to three years in prison and fines of up to $10,000 for each felony count. Initially, he had only been charged with a misdemeanor related to the alleged assault.
Reports indicate that police were called to a scene where Lil Nas X was found “nude in the street” early in the morning. Officers stated that during their interaction, he allegedly “battered an officer,” resulting in his arrest.
After the arrest, he was taken to a hospital for treatment but was later discharged and booked on the misdemeanor charge. He has not publicly commented on the situation since the charges were filed.
In previous months, Lil Nas X had opened up about his mental health struggles, expressing that he has been dealing with challenging times. He mentioned feeling “all over the place” and shared his desire to bring more intention into his music and creative work.
As he moves forward amid these legal challenges, fans are hoping he finds a way to navigate this difficult period.
