Hollywood Actor Zachary Levi Stands Firm for His Beliefs, New Film Spotlights Inspiring True Story
Actor Zachary Levi is standing his ground. He’s making it clear that he won’t back down from speaking his mind, even if it means facing challenges in Hollywood.
Levi, known for his role in “Shazam!”, is starring in a new movie called “Sarah’s Oil,” hitting theaters soon. He recently discussed how his political views have affected his career. While he’s still working, he believes he’s been “graylisted” in the industry because of his conservative leanings.
Despite any pushback, Levi remains grateful for those who support him, even if they don’t share his political views. He values those who know he has good intentions and wants what’s best for the world.
Levi admitted he has faced criticism for expressing his opinions. He mentioned disagreeing with Kamala Harris’s selection during the last election and questioning corporations like Pfizer. He believes there should be accountability for actions taken over the past few years.
Levi identifies as a libertarian, emphasizing individual liberty while acknowledging the importance of not infringing on others’ freedoms. He believes many policies on the left don’t fully consider this balance, leading to an overlap between libertarian and conservative values.
“I’m just trying to keep moving forward and speaking up when I think that we’re being lied to and speaking up, speaking truth in love,” Levi said.
His new film, “Sarah’s Oil,” tells the remarkable true story of Sarah Rector, a young Black girl in early 1900s Oklahoma who became one of America’s first Black female millionaires at the young age of 11. The film highlights themes of faith, resilience, and overcoming adversity.
Levi was drawn to the story and wondered why it wasn’t more widely known. The film depicts Rector praying over her land and believing it contained oil, which turned out to be true, leading to her extraordinary success.
Levi plays Bert Smith, a friend who helps Sarah tap into the oil beneath her land.
In addition to acting, Levi is also investing in a new production studio near Austin, Texas, called Wyldwood Studios. This $100 million project aims to create a space where filmmakers can focus on quality storytelling without being influenced by Hollywood politics. While open to faith-based projects, the goal is not to create a conservative alternative to Hollywood, but to focus on excellence and avoid pushing a political agenda.
“Sarah’s Oil” is now playing in theaters.
