Leni Klum is standing firm against criticism for modeling lingerie alongside her supermodel mother, Heidi Klum. The mother-daughter duo has featured in various ads for the Italian brand Intimissimi.
In a recent interview, Leni shared her thoughts, stating, “I always try to remember that no matter what you do, there will always be someone who doesn’t like it. You simply have no influence on it and shouldn’t concentrate too much on the negative.” She emphasized that the positive feedback far outweighed the negative, noting, “Most of the comments are in German, and I don’t really understand many of them. Of course, that helps too.”
The response to their latest lingerie ad has been mixed. Some commenters expressed discomfort, with one noting, “This makes me feel uncomfortable,” while another said it “gives me a yucky feeling.” However, support was also seen, as one admirer chimed in, praising the pair: “Two beautiful ladies! I can’t imagine why anyone would be critical of this. People have been modeling underwear forever.”
Since diving into modeling at the age of 16, Leni has closely followed in her mother’s footsteps. The pair even graced the cover of Vogue Germany together in early 2021. Leni fondly recalled her first cover shoot, stating she had a blast on set with Heidi and was thrilled for her career launch.
While Leni initially had aspirations to model at 13, Heidi advised her to take things slow, helping her understand the discipline required in the industry. Leni remarked, “Without my mother’s advice, I would have approached the matter a little naively and wouldn’t have had such an understanding of what goes into modeling.”
Heidi, reflecting on her daughter’s journey, advised her during an interview, “The best advice I’ve given my daughter is to always be happy with yourself when you look in the mirror. I think that’s most important.” This encouraging support showcases the close bond between the Klum women as they navigate the world of fashion together.
