Lady Gaga Wins Sports Emmy, Nears EGOT Status
Lady Gaga has made headlines again by winning a Sports Emmy for her outstanding music direction. The award was given to her for her performance at the 2025 Super Bowl held in New Orleans, where she sang “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick. This moving performance was dedicated to the victims of a recent terror attack in New Orleans and the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
This latest accolade brings Gaga one step closer to achieving the coveted EGOT status, which includes an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award. Currently, she is just one award away from joining an exclusive club of only 26 artists who have achieved this honor, including famous names like Elton John and Jennifer Hudson.
During her impactful performance on New Orleans’ Bourbon Street, Gaga was joined by NFL legends Tom Brady, Michael Strahan, and Terry Bradshaw, as well as local first responders. Strahan remarked on the resilience of the city after suffering a terror attack at the start of the year, expressing hope and strength in unity during difficult times. Brady echoed this sentiment, stating that tragedy brings people together rather than tearing them apart.
In addition to her recent Emmy win, Gaga holds an impressive 14 Grammy Awards, showcasing her talent across various musical genres. Her achievements underscore her influence in the entertainment industry, particularly with her success in both music and acting.
Looking ahead, Gaga’s upcoming Mayhem Ball Tour kicks off in July, with performances planned in cities such as Las Vegas, Seattle, New York, Miami, Toronto, and Chicago, before heading overseas.
As she continues her artistic journey, all that remains for Lady Gaga to achieve her EGOT is a Tony Award.
