Late-Night Host’s Show Pulled After Conservative Figure Remarks
After news came out that late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel’s show was being stopped by Disney because of comments he made about Charlie Kirk, a leader in conservative circles, questions are being asked about why this happened.
Chuck Schumer, a top Democrat in the Senate, even suggested on social media that there might be more to the story. He wondered if the real reason was related to the Epstein case, which has been in the news lately.
Nexstar Media Group, which owns many TV stations, said they would stop showing Kimmel’s show on their ABC channels. They said Kimmel’s comments about Charlie Kirk were not right and didn’t match the views of their local communities.
Andrew Alford, a top person at Nexstar, said that giving Kimmel a platform wasn’t in the public’s best interest right now.
Former President Trump also spoke about the situation, saying that Kimmel was “fired” because his show wasn’t doing well. He also said Kimmel isn’t very talented and should have been let go a long time ago.
Trump also said on social media that the show’s cancellation was “great news for America.”
The comments that caused the problem were made during a show where Kimmel talked about conservatives and the Charlie Kirk situation.
Brendan Carr, a member of the Federal Communications Commission, praised the TV stations for “standing up for what’s right for their community.”
