Man Arrested for Attempted Kidnapping of Young Girl in Colorado
A man from Colorado has been accused of trying to kidnap a young girl not once, but twice in just a few minutes at a Safeway grocery store in Littleton.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported that 34-year-old Bradley Mikel Wilson was arrested over the weekend and is facing charges of attempted kidnapping.
This incident occurred on June 21 when Wilson allegedly approached an 8-year-old girl who was shopping with her grandmother. According to officials, he asked the grandmother, “May I borrow your child?” before taking the girl by the shoulder and attempting to walk her out of the store.
Thankfully, the girl managed to break free and ran back to her grandmother after the latter began to shout at Wilson. Following this, Wilson left the store but returned shortly after, attempting to take the girl again, which prompted store staff to alert the police.
While deputies arrived to respond, Wilson had already left the scene. However, he was apprehended later that day. He was booked into the Jefferson County Detention Facility just before midnight on June 21 and is scheduled to make his first court appearance on June 23.
Fortunately, both the girl and her grandmother did not suffer any physical injuries during this frightening ordeal.
