Music star Kid Rock recently shared his thoughts on former First Lady Michelle Obama’s decision to skip President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. He suggested that she appears to be “a little angry” for not attending the event.
Kid Rock, who is set to perform during the inauguration festivities, emphasized the importance of showing respect for the presidency. He recounted his own experience from years ago when he played at Barack Obama’s inauguration, despite not having voted for him. He expressed how he had a good time then, indicating that personal politics shouldn’t overshadow the respect due to the country’s leadership.
Reports indicate that Michelle Obama’s absence may stem from her reluctance to hide her feelings about Trump. Sources close to her suggest that she may be opting out to avoid having to pretend to be cordial towards the new president.
Historically, Michelle Obama has not shied away from voicing her opinions about Trump. For instance, during the 2024 Democratic National Convention, she criticized him for what she described as divisive rhetoric.
Despite her absence, former Presidents, including Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, along with their spouses, are confirmed to be attending Trump’s inauguration. Interestingly, this will not be the first notable event Michelle Obama has missed recently; she also did not attend the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter.
Kid Rock expressed his anticipation for the inauguration, calling Trump a “terrific guy.” He stressed the need for sensible leadership, wanting someone capable of running the country effectively, saying he believes it’s time to make America great again.
