Recently, country star Keith Urban made headlines after an interview on Australia’s Mix 102.3 took an unexpected turn. During the chat, hosts Max Burford and Hayley Pearson asked a personal question about Urban’s wife, actress Nicole Kidman.
While it seemed that the singer abruptly hung up, sources close to Urban clarified that this was not the case. “Keith did not hang up, period,” a source explained, stating that the country singer was not the one who ended the Zoom call. Instead, it seems that someone from his team disconnected the interview, likely to avoid the personal topic being discussed.
The controversial moment arose when Burford introduced a game called Wall of Truth, described as asking “very tricky” and “deeply personal” questions. Burford posed a question regarding Urban’s feelings when he sees Kidman appearing alongside younger actors like Zac Efron in romantic scenes.
After the question was asked, Urban was reportedly no longer on the call, leading to speculation about whether he or his team had cut the conversation short. One voice on the call suggested, “I think his team hung up on us because they didn’t want us to ask that question.”
Pearson supported this theory, stating that Urban “doesn’t like the personal stuff,” although Burford pointed out that Urban appeared to be smiling during the interview. Sources confirm that Urban is typically easygoing and didn’t seem bothered by the question itself.
The radio show didn’t receive any comments from Urban’s representatives regarding this incident.
