Jonathan Majors’ new film, Magazine Dreams, has an official release date. It is scheduled to premiere in theaters on March 21, 2025, under Briarcliff Entertainment. This announcement follows a delay caused by Majors’ legal troubles with his former partner, Grace Jabbari.
In the film, Majors plays Killian Maddox, an amateur bodybuilder facing challenges to his mental and physical well-being as he aims for bodybuilding stardom. The character struggles against medical advice, continuing steroid use that his doctors have warned could harm his liver. The story dives into Maddox’s dark struggles, emphasizing his obsession with a champion bodybuilder.
Majors dedicated himself to the role, consuming a staggering 6,100 calories a day and training six days a week for over four months. Magazine Dreams premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last year and features an ensemble cast that includes Haley Bennett, Taylour Paige, Mike O’Hearn, Harrison Page, and Harriet Sansom Harris. Jennifer Fox, Dan Gilroy, Jeffrey Soros, and Simon Horsman are among the producers of the film.
Initially distributed by Searchlight Pictures, Magazine Dreams returned to its filmmakers after Majors faced misdemeanor charges from a domestic incident last year. His conviction, stemming from a dispute with Jabbari in New York City, resulted in a sentence requiring participation in a domestic violence treatment program.
Jabbari later filed a civil lawsuit against Majors, alleging multiple instances of abuse. In November, she withdrew her lawsuit, allowing the claims to be dismissed. Jabbari’s attorney expressed relief that the case was resolved, allowing her to move forward in her life.
In a separate development, Majors and actress Meagan Good announced their engagement this past November, celebrating a new chapter in their lives.
