Senator Ron Johnson Presses for Biden’s Health Records from National Archives
Senator Ron Johnson is urging the National Archives to release all records related to former President Joe Biden’s mental and physical well-being. This request has sparked significant interest, as it raises questions about the state of decision-making during Biden’s presidency.
In a letter addressed to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Johnson, who chairs the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, is conducting an inquiry into what he describes as a potential cover-up regarding Biden’s health issues. He points out that allegations suggest that Biden, along with his administration, may have hidden information about his deteriorating health during his time in office.
Johnson expressed concern about who was truly making critical presidential decisions if Biden was not fully capable. He highlighted that one of these key decisions could involve the power to grant pardons, which is currently an area of investigation for the White House Counsel’s Office.
The investigation also includes examining Biden’s use of an autopen, a device used to replicate a person’s signature. Reports indicate that Biden has relied on this technology to sign a myriad of documents, including pardons, which has led to questions about the authenticity of his signature and the decisions made under his name.
In his letter, Johnson specified that he wants access to all records relevant to Biden’s health, including communications among former White House officials. He indicated that this includes records from key individuals like former chief of staff Ron Klain and various advisors.
President Biden recently defended his use of the autopen, stating that he made all decisions independently, even as he faces scrutiny for not approving each name for the pardons he granted.
With Johnson’s deadline set for July 30, he and other congressional committees continue to pursue clarity in the ongoing discussion about the current and past leadership’s capacity to govern. While investigations unfold, there is a growing call for transparency regarding the health and decision-making processes at the highest levels of government.
