Jillian Lauren-Shriner, the former wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, is talking about a scary incident that happened with the police in April.
In an interview, Jillian, who is 52, said she was shot by police officers who were looking for some people who ran away after a car accident. This happened near her home with Scott.
At the time, Jillian had a gun and shot it at a police officer in her yard. She was arrested but later let out after paying $1 million.
Jillian said that her life has been turned upside down since then. She explained, “I was doing the best I could to keep my family safe.” She also said that she acted in self-defense.
After being arrested, she tried to keep her mind busy by memorizing the writing on the walls of her jail cell.
Earlier this month, Jillian filed for divorce from Scott, who is 60, after they had been married for 20 years. She said they have “irreconcilable differences.”
The couple got married in 2005 and have two sons, Jovanni and Tariku.
Jillian wants to share custody of their children and receive financial support from Scott. She also wants her maiden name back.
Before filing for divorce, Jillian announced that she had cancer and had to have surgery.
Jillian said that the incident with the police made things even harder for her and Scott. She’s now working on dealing with past traumas to understand her actions better. She wants to be the best version of herself during this divorce.
She also mentioned that the news about the divorce was really painful for her, even though she was the one who filed for it.
Back in April, Jillian was shot by police near her home during the search for the suspects in the car accident.
Police said that Jillian didn’t listen to their orders to drop her weapon and that she shot at them.
An officer then shot Jillian in the shoulder, and she was taken to the hospital. She was charged with attempted murder but was later released on bail.
Instead of the attempted murder charge, Jillian was charged with a lesser crime and was given a mental health program instead of jail.
