Jason Kelce is exploring the vibrant food scene of New Orleans as he prepares for Super Bowl Sunday. The former NFL center, now 37, is in the city to support his brother, Travis Kelce, who will be playing for the Kansas City Chiefs against Jason’s old team, the Philadelphia Eagles.
In an interview during a flag football event, Jason shared some of the delicious dishes he has tried since arriving in the Big Easy. He mentioned enjoying classic NOLA foods like alligator, beignets, gumbo, turtle soup, and the famous hurricane cocktail. Recently, he had a surprising meal at a gas station, where he raved about the fried chicken he tried.
Jason had plenty of positive things to say about New Orleans, praising its lively atmosphere and exceptional food, drinks, and friendly people. He made it clear that he was having a great time, even joking about perhaps having “too much fun.”
In addition to indulging in the local cuisine, Jason also ventured into some entertaining activities, like getting his palm read to predict the outcome of the Super Bowl.
Known for his adventurous taste in food, Jason is less selective than his brother Travis, who has been labeled a picky eater since they were kids. In a recent podcast episode, Jason humorously described their family’s Thanksgiving gatherings, which often ended in conflict due to Travis’s food preferences.
Both brothers have made strides in trying new foods, with Travis’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, also influencing his culinary choices. Jason expressed his happiness about Travis being more open to trying new dishes, including Indian cuisine, thanks to Taylor’s encouragement.
As the Super Bowl approaches, Jason is fully immersed in the festivities of New Orleans, enjoying every moment before the big game.
