Country music star Jason Aldean is well-known for speaking his mind, especially when it comes to his support for former President Donald Trump. His outspoken views have often put him at odds with many in the entertainment industry. Recently, during Trump’s Inaugural Liberty Ball, Aldean expressed a feeling of vindication.
In an interview, Aldean mentioned that the last few years had been tough for him, with plenty of criticism for sharing his opinions about the nation’s state. However, he noticed a change at the recent event, stating, “It’s cool to look here and see all the celebrities and people that are showing up that didn’t really speak out.”
Aldean has announced a new tour called Full Throttle North America, and he feels that the entertainment world may be starting to embrace those who publicly support Trump. Unlike the 2017 inauguration, which struggled to fill its lineup with notable performers, this time, the event featured artists like Nelly, Snoop Dogg, Kid Rock, and Carrie Underwood.
Describing the atmosphere at the Liberty Ball, Aldean said, “It just kind of feels electric. Everybody’s just excited for this new chapter of where we’re headed.” Aldean performed for an hour, showcasing popular songs including his hit “Try That in a Small Town.” Despite facing backlash for the song’s music video, which some claimed promoted divisive themes, Aldean defended his work, stating that accusations of a pro-lynching message were baseless and dangerous.
For Aldean, Trump’s return to office represents an important moment for the future of America. He believes that while the media may portray a positive narrative, many citizens have been aware of the issues the nation has faced for quite some time. “A lot of us knew that for a long time. And I think a lot of other people are starting to see it now,” he remarked.
Even before entering politics, Trump was a recognizable figure in Hollywood, known for his television show “The Apprentice” and various cameos. However, his political journey has created a divide in the entertainment industry, with numerous celebrities voicing their opposition. Yet, Aldean feels that this divide may be slowly closing.
He hopes for a return to unity, saying, “Hopefully it’s getting everything back on track and people are all getting on the same page.” For Aldean, the inauguration wasn’t just a performance; it symbolized a cultural shift. With Trump back in office, he believes there is a renewed sense of direction and relief among his supporters.
