Janelle Brown Reflects on Loss and New Beginnings
Janelle Brown, known from the reality show Sister Wives, is navigating the challenging journey of coping with the death of her son, Garrison. On May 5, she shared her thoughts upon returning to Flagstaff, Arizona, since his passing in March 2024. Accompanied by a heartfelt black and white photo of Garrison, she expressed her emotions and the progress she has made in her grieving process.
Janelle wrote, "It’s taken a while to accept that we did everything we could." She highlighted how difficult it can be when the mind starts to lose hope, even when evidence suggests otherwise.
During her recent visit to Flagstaff, she realized the need for a fresh start. “Everywhere I looked, I could see traces of Garrison,” she stated, expressing gratitude toward her children and grandchildren for their support during tough moments. Her faith also brings her comfort, as she believes she will be reunited with her son one day.
This emotional reflection followed a recent episode of Sister Wives, where the family discussed Garrison’s tragic death, which his younger brother Gabriel discovered in his apartment.
In discussions with her sister Carrie, Janelle talked candidly about how they and their children are processing Garrison’s loss and emphasized the importance of conversations about mental health. She shared updates on Gabriel, noting that he was “doing okay.”
Janelle also mentioned the difficult task ahead of preparing Garrison’s Flagstaff home for sale, bringing more closure to this painful chapter.
As she and Carrie spoke, emotions ran high. Janelle struggled to express her feelings but was comforted by her sister, who reminded her that healing takes time.
Overall, being in North Carolina while mourning has been beneficial for Janelle. She acknowledged that grief can catch you off guard, but she feels fortunate to be away from memories tied to Flagstaff during this difficult time.
