Jalen Williams Celebrates Thunder’s Championship with First Drinks
In a recent celebration following the Oklahoma City Thunder’s NBA championship win, guard Jalen Williams experienced a milestone: he tried alcohol for the first time. The 24-year-old athlete had promised his teammates that if they won the championship, he would join in the festivities.
“I drank a little bit yesterday — it was my first time ever," Williams shared during an interview. "The guys wanted me to drink earlier in the season, but I told them, ‘Win a championship, and I’ll drink whatever you want.’”
After the Thunder secured their title against the Indiana Pacers, Williams made good on his word. He mentioned having a few shots and a taste of champagne, but humorously added that he found everything “disgusting.”
Williams isn’t alone in this learning experience. Teammate Alex Caruso had to guide his younger teammates on how to open a champagne bottle. Notably, the Thunder has one of the youngest rosters in the NBA, averaging just 25.6 years old, making them the second-youngest team ever to clinch a championship.
As they prepared for the victory parade, Williams was spotted carrying a box of tequila and champagne, indicating he was ready to celebrate in style. When asked about how he felt just days after the victory, he cheerfully responded, “I’m feeling good. Feeling loose.”
This lighthearted moment, combined with the championship victory, has added to the growing excitement surrounding the Thunder’s future.
