Davide Frattesi, an Italian midfielder, might be in the starting lineup for Inter Milan’s important Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund.
Frattesi hasn’t been a regular starter this season, with only 18 starts in all competitions. He has only started one game in Serie A, the top Italian league, which shows that the coach, Cristian Chivu, hasn’t completely trusted him.
However, things might be changing due to injuries to key players. Nicolo Barella, a vital player for Inter, is out for the rest of the month because of an injury. Also, Hakan Calhanoglu, a very good playmaker, is expected to be out until the middle of February.
These injuries leave Coach Chivu with fewer choices in the midfield. Piotr Zielinski has secured his place as a starter. Now, Petar Sucic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Frattesi are competing for the other two spots.
Even though Frattesi has only started one league game, he has started twice in the Champions League. He might get another chance to start in tonight’s game against Borussia Dortmund.
The potential inclusion of Frattesi in the starting lineup could provide a fresh dynamic to Inter Milan’s midfield. His energy and ability to make forward runs could be valuable assets as they face a tough opponent in Borussia Dortmund.
