Isa Briones and AnnaSophia Robb are set to join the cast of the popular off-Broadway play All Nighter for its final weeks. They will take on the roles of Lizzy and Darcie, stepping in for Havana Rose Liu and Kristine Froseth, who will perform their last shows on April 25.
All Nighter is currently being staged at the Newman Mills Theater in New York City, and will run until May 18. The performances featuring Briones and Robb will start on April 30, following a brief period where understudies Tessa Albertson and Olivia Puckett will fill in.
AnnaSophia Robb, known for her childhood roles in films like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Bridge to Terabithia, has been active on television recently, appearing in NBC’s Grosse Pointe Garden Society and the Netflix film Rebel Ridge. In reflecting on her new role, she expressed her excitement, stating it has been a dream for her to join All Nighter. Robb has admired the playwright Natalie Margolin’s work since 2019, when she first encountered the script.
Robb appreciates the chance to work alongside talented actresses, emphasizing that the exploration of female friendship in the play is a vital and often overlooked topic. She feels fortunate to be part of a creative team that champions strong women.
Briones, aged 26, has been gaining recognition for her role as Dr. Trinity Santos in the medical drama The Pitt on Max. She has also appeared in other notable series and had a significant stage presence in productions such as Hadestown. This show will mark her first experience in a non-musical play, and she has expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside Robb.
Natalie Margolin, the playwright, expressed her delight in welcoming Briones and Robb to the cast, highlighting the expanding talent pool contributing to this heartfelt project.
All Nighter tells the story of a close group of college roommates in Pennsylvania who pull an all-nighter to finish their final assignments during finals week. As they confront the pressures of their relationships and aspirations, the play examines the dynamics and truths among them.
The play opened on March 9, following previews, and has generated considerable interest, reflecting the contemporary struggles of friendship and personal growth. Directed by Jaki Bradley and produced by Tony winner Ben Platt, All Nighter is being celebrated for its humor and poignant message.
