Authorities in Minnesota have apprehended an individual outside the UnitedHealthcare headquarters. This arrest occurred four months after the company’s CEO was shot dead in New York City.
The unnamed suspect was taken into custody in Minnetonka, according to a statement from the Minnetonka Police Department. This happened shortly after police reported a significant presence at the UnitedHealthcare campus, indicating they were observing the situation.
The arrest followed reports of an intruder, as noted by various news outlets. More than a dozen police vehicles, along with an ambulance, were stationed at the scene. Fortunately, there have been no injuries reported in connection with this incident, and the police have not provided additional comments at this time.
This incident is particularly notable as it comes just over four months after CEO Brian Thompson was fatally shot outside a hotel in Manhattan while attending a conference. The suspect in that case, Luigi Mangione, faces multiple charges, including murder and stalking, in relation to the shooting.
