Tragic Death of Influencer Valeria Marquez in Jalisco, Mexico
Valeria Marquez, a 23-year-old beauty influencer, was tragically shot while livestreaming at her salon, Blossom Beauty Lounge, in Jalisco, Mexico, on May 13. Authorities believe her death may have been executed by hired assassins.
According to the Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office, Marquez was in her salon when a masked man, accompanied by another individual on a motorcycle, entered and opened fire. Shockingly, the attack was captured live on TikTok as she was engaging with her followers.
Just hours before the incident, a man posing as a delivery driver visited the salon, claiming to have an expensive gift for Marquez. This unusual delivery raised concerns, and Marquez expressed her worries during the livestream, questioning if something sinister was planned against her.
Minutes after her concerns were voiced, the masked man and the motorcyclist returned to the salon. Investigators suspect they were hit men, especially since one of them inquired if Marquez was present, indicating they did not personally know her. This has led the prosecutor’s office to believe the shooting was premeditated.
Denis Rodríguez, a spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office, highlighted that contract killings by motorcycle riders have been rising in Jalisco. He also noted that a former congressman was killed in the same area just hours before Marquez’s death, prompting an investigation into potential links between the two cases.
Marquez had garnered a significant following on social media, with 149,000 Instagram followers and over 114,000 on TikTok. Following her untimely death, many fans took to her accounts to express their grief.
The investigation is ongoing, as authorities aim to gather more details about the circumstances surrounding both deaths.
