A high-ranking Hamas commander involved in the tragic October 7 attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz has been eliminated by a targeted drone strike, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The strike took place on Tuesday local time in the Western Khan Yunis Battalion.
Abd al-Hadi Sabah played a key role in the brutal infiltration of Kibbutz Nir Oz, which devastated the community located near the Gaza border. The IDF, working alongside the Israeli Security Agency (ISA), carried out this intelligence-driven operation.
Authorities reported that Sabah was in hiding within a designated humanitarian area in southern Gaza when he was targeted. He was noted for his leadership not only in the attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz but also in numerous assaults against IDF personnel.
“The IDF and ISA are committed to continuing operations against all terrorists involved in the tragic events of October 7,” the agencies stated. They emphasized their focus on minimizing civilian harm during such operations by using precise munitions and thorough intelligence.
The attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz was particularly devastating, resulting in nearly half of its 400 residents either killed or taken captive during the assault. This operation aims to bring accountability to those responsible for such acts of violence against innocent lives.
